Remembering Sam: A Legacy of Strength, Awareness, and Hope

Sam graduated from the University of Georgia in 2019, where he excelled in his studies and building lifelong friendships. After graduation, he launched a promising career as a Financial Advisor at Northwestern Mutual in Atlanta, where he was well on his way to building a successful future. With a close-knit family and a loyal group of friends by his side, Sam seemed to have everything going for him.

But, beneath the surface of Sam’s vibrant personality, there was a silent battle he faced alone, and in February of 2020, Sam’s life came to a devastating end when he took his own life, leaving all of us in shock.

Sam always seemed so full of life, so strong, but the reality is that even the happiest people can be silently struggling. Sam’s battle with depression was something many of us didn’t know of until it was too late.

In the wake of his loss, we’re not just grieving—we’re reflecting on Sam’s life and the joy he brought to all of us; we are determined not to let his story end in sorrow. We’re honoring Sam’s memory by raising awareness about suicide and mental health. Through our organization, we want to carry on Sam’s legacy and break the stigma surrounding depression, provide resources for those who need help, and offer hope to anyone struggling.

We believe that by honoring Sam’s memory, we can inspire others to seek help, support one another, and find strength in moments of darkness. Through this organization, we are committed to keeping Sam’s light alive—not just in our hearts but in the hearts of everyone who needs it.

Together, we carry forward Sam’s legacy of love, laughter, and the unwavering belief that no one should ever feel alone in their struggles.
